Diverse group of business men and women gather around a table discussing ideas

In Science Vale, we’ll help you grow faster and succeed sooner.  It’s not just that you can save on business rates, you have access to the support and resources you need to prosper.  Our world-renowned universities and research institutions are keen to commercialise their discoveries. And there are national sources of funds and expertise to help you on your way.

Oxfordshire and Science Vale have plenty of sources of business support: Vale4Business, SO Business, Oxfordshire LEP, Invest in Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire Business Support, Department for International Trade and the Oxfordshire Skills Board.

Elsewhere across the region, there are opportunities to get together for general business networking including Vale4Business, SO Business and The Oxford Network, or specialist scientific business networking (e.g. OBN).  Organisations such as Venturefest draw businesses and investors together, while The Satellite Catapult helps organisations make use of satellite technology.

Science Vale rents are up to 35% lower than Cambridge
Across the region we’re developing sites for businesses of all sizes and at all stages of development.  With average rents well below those of Cambridge (-35%) and Reading (-29%), Science Vale offers exceptional value.  There are more opportunities here too: our Harwell Campus, for example, covers 287 hectares and is almost five times bigger than the Cambridge Science Park.

Finally, we’re aiming for 95% superfast broadband coverage by the end of 2017 (90% achieved during 2015).  And 5G phone coverage when the national roll out begins.  With numerous planned infrastructure improvements, your business will flourish in Science Vale.
